Downtown Hays Development Corporation is excited to brink an ice skating rink to Downtown this winter! 

Stay active outdoors while enjoying a fun time with family and friends in Downtown Hays this winter! The rink will provide a safe, entertaining, and recreational activity for people of all ages. No need to brink your own skates...it's all included!

 

Please note that we are anticipating a heavy crowd during the first week of opening. Be patient with us as we learn how to operate an ice skating rink for the first time!

What to Know About the GRAND OPENING! 

Join us Thursday, November 5 from 5:00p - 9:00p at 110 E 10th for the Ice Rink's Grand Opening. We will be offering FREE thirty-minute skates all night! Free cookies and hot chocolate will be served while supplies last.

Your Questions Answered 

Will I need to sign a waiver?

Yes, every time you skate, you will need to sign a waiver. For skaters under 18 years old, a parent or guardian will need to sign for them. You can find the link to the waiver in the left-hand sidebar. 

 

What about COVID-19? Will this even be possible?

YES! This is an outdoor event and we will be able to limit the number of skaters on the ice.

Will we be charged to skate?

Yes, entry is $7 per skater ages 4+ during regular skate hours. This includes skates and one hour on the ice!

What are your holiday hours?

The Downtown Hays Ice Rink will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. 

 

Can we purchase punch cards?

Yes, punch cards are available now! These are a great way to save a little money by purchasing a 10 or 5 visit card for your friends and family! Punch cards can ONLY be purchased at the Downtown Hays Development Corporation office at 1200 Main Street. Punch cards are not redeemable on holidays including New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, or Valentine's Day.

Can we skate if it's hot out?

Yes! The rink will be a synthetic material so no matter what mother nature throws at us, the rink will be open! Located under the beautiful Downtown Pavilion, the environment will be covered and monitored at all times.

We know that 2020 has hit local non-profits especially hard and Downtown Hays wants to give back to you! 

The Downtown Hays Ice Skating Rink is run by local non-profits as a fundraising tool for their organization. Your non-profit could earn up to $1,400 for your organization!
